WHAT IS BREATHWORK?
Breathwork is an active, engaging form of meditation where we use our own breath in certain patterns to change the state of our nervous system - calming down, energizing, focusing, clarifying, clearing stuck energy/stress/anxiety/trauma and more.
IS BREATHWORK RIGHT FOR ME?
Yes! We are all breathing all the time - the only question is if we are breathing in a healthful, supportive way or if we are creating chronic low level panic through dis-regulated patterns. I guide many different levels and styles appropriate for everyone.
DO YOU GUIDE IN PERSON?
Yes! I guide somatic breathwork group sessions in person regularly - most often in NYC, Boston, CT, at Kripalu Center and beyond. Sign up for my once monthly Email List below to receive ongoing updates.
I guide in person 1-on-1 sessions and private group sessions upon request - this depends mostly on geographical location.

DO YOU GUIDE CORPORATE SESSIONS?
I certainly do! I work very well in corporate settings (and others) where there may even be varying degrees of skepticism or resistance toward the efficacy of mindfulness practice. I take a very pragmatic, direct, effective and science-based approach to mindfulness and stress management (with some "anti-sanctimonious" humor) that is deeply appreciated in corporate environments and other pragmatically functioning organizations. Please reach out any time if you'd like me to calm your workplace, whether in person or Zoom.
CAN BREATHWORK HELP MY ART AND CREATIVITY?
Absolutely! I first experienced breathwork in training as an actor for my Broadway debut. It cleared and opened my channels of energy by releasing emotional resistance and bodily tension, completely freeing me to new levels of self expression, creativity and authenticity.
IS BREATHWORK SAFE FOR ME?
Most breathwork is absolutely safe for everyone. More intensive breathwork can have certain Contraindications (pregnant, history of serious cardiac events or seizures, recent surgery.) Please reach out any time with specific questions. 1-on-1 sessions are always tailored to you directly as an individual and group sessions are never pushed - the work is always in service of YOU and your specific needs and interest.
WHY IS BREATHWORK BECOMING SO POPULAR?
Because it is so simple and so effective. Breathwork is in fact one of the most ancient mindfulness practices - Energy clearing breathwork sessions are an ancient shamanic practice of indigenous cultures the world over. Yoga breathing/Pranayama ("life force regulation" in sanskrit) is the original yoga practice ("union of mind, body, spirit") and predates yoga as we know it (asana/stretching poses) by many hundreds of years. Breathwork is simple, effective, accessible, immensely profound and powerful for health and wellbeing - whether practiced gently, intensively or anything in between.
